Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team
|
|
The Rockingham Police Department's A.C.E. Team was first formed in late 2002 due largely in part to a grant received from the Governor's Highway Safety Program. The A.C.E. Team is a dual-purpose team. Their first objective is to reduce traffic fatalities and injuries by aggressively enforcing motor vehicle laws. Traffic accidents and personal injuries have been reduced by a significant amount since the inception of this team. The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is charged with the task of aggressive tactics in the war on drugs and the transportation of illegal substances. The primary mission of the ACE Team is to stop the delivery of illegal narcotics before reaching the dealers. The officers of this unit are highly trained to recognize and search-out those using, possessing, selling or handling illegal narcotics. The ACE Team is also charged with aggressive DWI detection, enforcing seatbelt usage and general highway safety. The A.C.E. Team has become a very productive part of our anti-drug and traffic safety campaign. The officers have struck a good balance between traffic and criminal law enforcement to make our streets safer.
